  New Light, the teaching that has morphed into Old Alibi

  as far as i recall watchtower's new light doctrine was conceived from the very first issue of zion's watchtower and herald of christ's presence, 1879. c.t.

  russell used it then as an alibi for his failed 1874 and 1878 dates.

  1874 was eventually replaced by 1914 and the rest is history.. well, they've been using the alibi ever since -- for the some 24 failed events that were supposed to happen in 1914 to the 49 failed dates over the years.. at the heart and soul of watchtower's "new light" teaching is proverbs 4:18, ".

  It's also an unwise conclusion that "the bright morning light that grows brighter and brighter until full daylight" has even the slightest bearing in our day on whether Watchtower teachings evolve in one way or the other.

  A basic Christian teaching is that doctrine is "fixed" by the apostles. It cannot morph and certainly cannot flip-flop once presented by the apostles.
  
  Paul wrote the below words to address this very issue, after seeing how some folks were easily fooled by those that would change the gospel.
  
  Galatians 1 - I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

  7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

  8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

  9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

  Proof - God is not speaking through the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses

  with this thread - i’m currently in pimo –mode - 10 years -in for 40 years- wife a pioneer (maybe this could be a source for someone as a book idea, handout if there isn’t one already).

  i am hoping to develop coming up with at least 101 reasoning points using only wt publications, bible facts (hebrew/greek text as well) and quotable things from jw broadcast we can prove that god is not with jehovah’s witnesses and its governing body.

  (101 seem to be common number when used for a book format) i’m sure there are websites out there that list many of the flip-flops; however we can use this thread for this specific topic.

  This is an easy test to see if JW's are with God.

  Quote this scripture:

  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth - Phil 2: 10

  Say, "Since everyone in heaven, earth and below the earth are commanded to bow the knee to Jesus, would it be OK if we did that together right now to ask God's blessing on our discussion? "

  End of discussion.

  JW's will never willingly bow their knees to Jesus Christ because they are not his.

  I was fooled by a cult and view all religious evangelizers with suspicion now

  We were all fooled by this cult because we put our trust in men. But, in all fairness evangelists have been preaching against religiosity and for a personal relationship with Christ since the apostles.
  
  The bible is full of references warning against trusting in men. That's my kind of preaching!

  The Watchtower concept of Christianity is opposite to the historical Christian message, which doesn't change. Past preachers .... unrelated to one another preached the same message.
  
  Religion (ideology) vs. Relationship .... that's the choice that confronts man ever since a certain man walked out of a tomb 2000 years ago.

  my judicial committee was set for monday.

  the message says to call back asap and that he loves me, but he said it like "i love ya, girl" he never has said that to me like that.

  so, i call back and he says i have been a hard person to get a hold of and that confused me because i had not received any calls from him.

  Sorry to hear about your shunning. People have been sacrificing their children to false gods for a long time. Your father sees this as a battle of the gods..... his vs. Jesus alone.

  He said that worshipping Jesus was wrong and I offered to send him several scriptures stating the opposite.

  Buried within all the leagalism baloney.... we get to the real reason for your harsh treatment. Once a person trusts Jesus alone, they are are far more resistant to manipulation, new light, refinements, adjustments, changing medical rules, date setting schemes, hype, scare tactics etc. This is the ONLY issue that this is all about. You fired Molech and they don't like it, plain and simple.

  At age 40, I had to chop my own family tree down. I started my own family, had two more sons.

  Your previous family is utterly deceived. But, you are free now. Freedom is a very precious and costly thing. Determine how you will use your freedom and do it.

  OCT 2019 Watchtower - Survival dependant on loyalty to JW Leaders

  there is so much wrong with the newly released october, 2019 but that's not unusual.

  what stands out is there statement claiming that survival through armageddon depends on loyalty to those 'taking the lead'.

  since they claim there will be a point during the gt that they (the gb) won't be physically around, jws must still be loyal to jw leaders.. whats interesting in this article is that they make it clear that they, the governing body are going to take part, from heaven, in the war of armageddon.

  Proverbs 29:25 ESV / The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.

  Once the governing body disappears, we can't have people putting faith directly in God without the elders' permission now can we?

  I drifted away, eventually found Christ on my own, and told my parents and brothers about it. They told everyone that I was an apostate and that none of the family could associate with me. They never addressed any of my questions or concerns. While never officially disfellowshipped, ex-jw Christians are singled out for very harsh shunning.
  
  So, while those who "drift away" may get thrown a social bone or two now and then, those who come to independent faith in Jesus are quickly labelled "apostate" AND SHUNNED THE HARDEST because they represent the ultimate threat to the cult. Those who drift into atheism, agnosticism, secularism, and almost anything besides bible-bleieving Christianity - not as much from what I've seen.

  Do You Think Disfellowshipping Is The Worst Thing About Jehovah’s Witnesses?

  the longer i’m out the more i feel that disfellowshipping is cruel.

  i understand the organization tells parents to not even accept emails or texts from their disfellowshipped children.

  while i was a witness they tried to discourage families from association but there was some leeway if it was considered necessary business to interact.

  I think the worst is scaring the little kids with images and tales of death and destruction. This sets them up for anxiety disorders that can only be alleviated by the cult or other addictions.
  
  Kids brought up where they feel safe are FAR more able to be successful in life.

  They really hate kids..... always have. Always told people to not have them. All the Child Abuse settlements must really chap their cheecks.

  Probably figured that the JWs kids caused this problem, let them pay for it.This also conditions the kids to get ready to get zilch when mom and dad passes away and donates their life' savings to the WT.

  What a fine example of putting the kingdom first .

  Unsolicited advice for PIMO JWs who live in anguish and fear

  before one who belongs to another religion can become a jw, one must officially resign from one’s former church in writing.

  many who left their family religion to become a jw have been disowned by their families.

  of course, jws consider this to be persecution.

  Good points Roger. I have never regretted disellowshipping my family. But, it took me until age 40 until I was mature enough to handle it. I wanted to for a long time, I just couldn't let go until I realized that there was no amount of buffoonery that would be too much to get them to stop worshiping JW.org.

  I was young enough to start my own family ... again. The longer people wait, the more regret they will have I believe. Now I wished I had taken a stand 10 years before I did!

  I pray for them, I just can't stand to be around the arrogance and blindness.I finally grew up and took what life had dealt me like a adult ..... took a while though.

  Glad you posted this. It is a point of view that is not offered very much on this board.
